When I was little, I had an obsession with licking my lips. It was borderline OCD behavior, and caused me to have huge red rings around my mouth! When I look back at old photos, I remember that horrible habit and have since vowed to never let my lips go dry again.
I always have chap stick handy - seriously everywhere - in my purse, diaper bag, bathroom, kitchen, living room, car, and nightstand. I apply it every hour without even thinking, it's such a huge part of my daily routine.
So you could assume that I was extremely lost when I come to find myself "chapstickless" after arriving in Rome last summer. I must have misplaced it somewhere between baggage claim and my cramped 10-hour-flight, needless to say I was somewhat panicky.
The Italia weather was warm and the day was long. I decided to head to the hotel gift store with my brother in search of a backup plan. I came across a chap stick called Labello. It was in a thick blue tube and looked harmless enough, except for the fact that it was 5.50 euros! But hey, at that point I would have paid 80! (not really...kinda). I attribute my somewhat out-of-sorts behavior to being pregnant and jet-lagged.
I tore threw the package, popped the lid, twisted & applied. Magnifico! I fell in love! The sugary smooth texture coated my lips in a light layer. It was weightless, unlike my usual brand, and the lemon scent smelled so yummy I could taste it.
I carried my Labello everywhere in Italia and continued to when I arrived back home. It lasted a lot longer on my lips than my previous chap stick - thus, less application and longer duration!
It finally wore out three months after arriving home. I then did a search online and found more. I ordered Labello Classic Care, Labello Milk & Honey, Labello Lip Effect Q10 Plus, and Labello Sun Protect.
Now that I think back, I am happy that I lost my chap stick in Italia, or else I would have never found this great product. By the end of my trip, I was able to pucker my lips, blow a sweet kiss, and successfully bid Arrivederci to the old country!
